That was just Evra having banter, he didn't actually abuse anyone racially. It was dug up by the Fail and the Sun yesterday to try and make a story, from 2004 of course. Evra addressed it in 2007 putting it down to youthful indiscretion. Non story really.

Fernandes has pumped a load of money into QPR but isn't the most popular owner. In fairness I think with or without Warnock they're going down. They don't strike me as being quite good enough for the Premier League. Mind you neither does Warnock, didn't with Sheffield United either. Championship is about his level.

Beat Bolton 3-0 at home to go joint top. A workmanlike performance more than anything where the ball didn't fall in our court at times, and this was most apparent when Wayne Rooney saw his penalty saved by Adam Bogdan, Zat Knight might also have saw red because he certainly denied Welbeck a clear goalscoring opportunity. But the goal came right on half time when Rooney's ball across found Paul Scholes who calmly finished. Just like old times. The second half was where Bolton came back into it slightly and might have snatched an equaliser when Steinsson's header ws cleared off the line by Evans and Petrov's effort was blocked. The points were safe 15 minutes from time though when Rooney found Welbeck who slid it past Bogdan, sadly to be his last act as he departed with an injury. The third goal arrived shortly afterwards when Michael Carrick calmly passed the ball into the net from 20 yards. On another day we could have had 6 or 7, but 3 will suffice.

In other news, Spurs could only draw at home to Wolves, same story for Liverpool at home to Stoke, Chelsea edge past Sunderland 1-0 and Blackburn beat Fulham 3-1 at home.

Difference between pretenders and title winners there. None of the top teams played well, but some can still get victories. Spurs are having a laugh if they think they can genuinely win the league.

You've got to laugh at Liverpool though, all this talk about a style of play that Roy Hodgson couldn't bring... I didn't know that style of play consisted of being one of the lowest scoring teams in the Premier league. :24:

Yes but the idea when you're playing a side who have come to play for a point is to be more attacking. Now Liverpool are missing Suarez, but they still have 3 other forwards, and only one started. Just seemed overly negative to be honest. Stoke are doing well but it's still a game which Liverpool should be looking to win.

What a wonderful game of football to watch, Swansea were fantastic and Arsenal got...well, out-Arsenal-ed. But that's even downplaying how good Swansea are and have been, they are a joy to watch. They dominate possession more often than not and play with no fear, but unlike Blackpool last year, they have control and probably won't go down. And they were well worth the win, had more possession, more chances and looked better on the ball. And that was despite going 1-0 down. Arsenal looked all over the place defensively at times and this showed on the third goal.

This season Swansea have the fifth highest passing success rate in Europe, that's pretty amazing considering the teams in Europe. And if that shocked you, consider the fact that Leon Brittan has the second highest passing success rate in Europe. Just behind Thiago Alcantara. But ahead of Xavi, yes, Xavi. And Iniesta, and Messi, and Ronaldo, and Ozil, and...every other player in Europe.

They are the closest the Premier League has to Barcelona, playing wise. They don't dominate possession as much (Barca usually manage 70%+ whereas Swansea usually get into the 60's) but they looked very assured on the ball and never hoof the ball upfield, very calm play. They have a lot to thank Roberto Martinez and Paulo Sousa for that too, but Brendan Rogers has carried it on and it's lovely to watch.
