Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Teddy Sheringham. Odd sounding I know but in 2001 we signed Van Nistelrooy and Sheringham left to go back to Spurs. I believe those two would have made a really good partnership in that season and maybe won the Title, though not to take away from Arsenal's achievements.

I've already seen the greatest partnership ever in Bergkamp and Henry :D

But I guess I would have liked to see England utilise Le Tissier more back in the day, a Shearer\Le Tissier partnership would have been pretty sweet.

Most of the American soccer pairings I thought of actually did have overlap. But I'll go with Lalas and Bocanegra on the US National Team... I think they would've been a formidable backline duo.

Football - Dan Marino and Ricky Williams... Ricky would've been the missing piece of the puzzle, and the Fins probably would've won 1-2 Super Bowls with that combination. Sadly, Ricky didn't come to the team until 7 years after Dan retired.
