Give me a minute to make a poll......

In the meanwhile..... Hubby wants to take a vacation.... on a Train!

He hasn't said to where. I think it would be a fantastic experience.

Anyone here ever taken a Train to anywhere? If so, how did it go? I'm talking a train with a sleeper car, diner car, etc.

I took a train from San Diego, to Del Mar... for a day of drinking and horse racing. It. Was. The. Shiznit. :nod:

More than one day on the train and... well... if you get a bit 'snappy', there's no room to 'bend'.

Biggest train journey I've ever taken is to South Scotland. My missus did a 24 hour train from Townsville to Bisbane, Australia. Stupidly she did a tab of acid before she got on it, she's been anti drugs ever since and I can understand why! :willy_nilly::surrender

As for getting snappy and all that..... if it were to happen.... I'm very bendable. I can bend my man right around my tiny little finger.

Westward Ho! LOL! Since I'm in the East.

I've driven across country... flew across country.... been from coast to coast east to west and north to south.

I'm going to get some information on Train destinations and go from there. Hubby says it's up to me. He's just gonna be along for the ride. Sort of like our marriage I suppose. :24:

Granted, I haven't ridden a train since I was a kid but I had awesome times. I've been cross-country a few times. CA to IL & CA to LA.

I loved sleeping on a train. I loved the cabin & the berths. Dining car, scenic car. The only thing is I was a kid. Not an adult. It might be tinier than I remember

I say go for it and have a freaking blast! At least a three-day trip.

Do you get motion sick easy? Cuz she does sway. Constantly. But I liked it. It soothed me to sleep. Besides, they have good drugs for that

I should also say I don't know what 'modern' trains are like. I was fortunate enough to travel on the Super Chief. But I would think todays trains offer the same kind of nice?

I have taken a train from where ever my ship was in Italy to Venice and back.
Then from one side of Spain to Rota Spain.

They really are good times.
