My supervisor would throw a temper tantrum, and I wouldn't stop hearing her warn against them for possible 5 months...she would post the dress code like fucking wallpaper in the office.

Well I figure since the girls in the office get away with flip-flops, capris, and even shorts... I can get away with flip-flops. My normal attire is jeans, a t-shirt, and my converse.

They're not noisy or anything, and I don't walk around a whole lot, but my feet are obviously showing, so it probably won't take long. :24:

Oh, and I generally wear a hat too, since I rarely get up in time to take a shower (but I shower the night before), and it's easier than actually putting water in my hair and brushing it. :24:

I work in a manufacturing environment that requires steel toes with Metgards be worn by production employees..... yet women in the office routinely walk through the plant in sandals... flip flops are not allowed by the HBIC of these women, a woman who often walks through the office in her socks..... it's insane... I normally wear boots of some kind with my jeans or regular shoes.., depend on how "management" I feel like looking on any given day. I am in the plant a lot so I have my own boots with metgards in then... I am wearing those today. They are some of the most comfortable boots I own...

When I worked at a construction site..we could wear reg shoes in the trailer.. but as soon as we had to go on to the site we had to put our work boots on.. I hated the boots but.. I wore em.. and my hard hat.. The only time I got away with reg shoes on the site was when I would come in and open the trailer..

if u can can wear sneakers and jeans, I don't see why theyd give u flack for shorts or flip flops.

I love flip-flops... I just bought two new pairs (I had been wearing the same chewed up pair for the last 4 years)... I got a pair of Waves and Quiksilver. My parents tried to get me to get some OluKais, but I couldn't justify spending $70 on one pair when I got two for $35. :24:

That's the relationship I had with my boss two jobs ago. We very rarely even talked about work when he called me up (he worked from home in Seattle and I worked from home in San Antonio). There were plenty of insulting obscenities sent both directions. :24: I keep hoping that they'll increase his budget so he can re-hire me as their IT Manager (he's the CIO). He keeps asking if I'll come back for what I was making before... which would be a $15k pay cut. I keep telling him there's no way I'll put up with his shit again for less than $65k.
