The new vBulletin has a very clean and good look.

What if you upgraded leaving it the default style and then showed several choices, ones they can actually change the site to later. Then they can decide from there. You might find that a lot of people choose the default style with a simple color tweak or two.

You also have the ability to make your own theme based on a color. It'll automatically design things for you based on that. Somethig to consider if you're not entirely sold on one specific design.

I did. That's a good point. And if we can personalize w/ colors, then I'd say go for what's easiest.
