I don't like the Yankees because they have "the best team money can buy". I've been a Yankees fan since I was a little girl and started watching the games with my Dad. The Yankees will always hold very special memories for me.

when A-Rod signed his deal with Texas and even when the Sox overpaid (big time) for Manny Ramirez...it sickens the fan because you know that ticket prices will just go up. I have not been able to go see a game at Fenway since 1996...its just crazy...sure if I wanted to pay face value plus $50 I could see a game, but Fenway is a shithole and going there you have no great seats unless you know someone who is a season ticket holder and even then you are not guaranteed a good seat. My mother in law who lives in Milwaukee is happy to have a team there who can only hope to stay in contention and not have a team pick and choose through their talent.

So I think that things should stay the same. However salary caps should go into place here. But keep the divisions.

well, you are very fortunate to have an owner who is not afraid to open his checkbook for marquee players and from what I have seen a killer ballpark, but not all the seats are sold which is sad.

Last August I paid $100 a ticket for field level seats out in left field. Granted, I could have reached out and pinched Bret Gardner's ass, but still. Also, the food and drink prices are insane. I try to get to a game at least once a season but it's easily $600 day.

$600 in food and drink? You must be super hungry and thirsty. :D

I agree. There are other teams with major money but they won't give it to the players.

Yankees Stadium is unbelievable. I miss the old one and was a little pissed it was going, but it really was getting beyond repair. I was at the old for the last season, so that was cool.

There was 4 of us at $100 a ticket, then food and drinks that was probably at least $200. Beer was $9 a bottle. Luckily it was too hot to drink many otherwise it would have really been a lot of money lol.

I'm going to see the Yankees/Mets play at CitiField this year. Same seats I had for Yankees Stadium but they're $85. Wish I was going back to Yankees Stadium though. There is so much to see there.

Baseball has absolutely the worst playoff system in pro sports. You pretty much know 1/2 into 162 games who's going to make the playoffs. How boring. I say, cut the number of games down to 80 or 90 games and institute a veteran salary cap. I'm sorry, but over 35 year old players should not be signed to multi year multi million dollar contracts. One year, one million.

Did I mention I hate baseball? Love playing it, but watching these steriod induced babies play makes my skin crawl.

The main thing that I want to see is even numbers between the NL and AL... move the Brewers back into the AL, or the Astros. But, you think that's radical... check out Jim Bowden's suggestion.

American Conference

Eastern Division
Red Sox
Mets
Yankees
Phillies
Blue Jays

Central Division
Reds
Indians
Tigers
Twins
Pirates

Midwest Division
Cubs
White Sox
Royals
Brewers
Cardinals

National Conference

Southeast Division
Braves
Orioles
Marlins
Rays
Nationals

Western Division
Diamondbacks
Rockies
Astros
Mariners
Rangers

California Division
Angels
Dodgers
A's
Padres
Giants

Basically, the American and National leagues would go away, replaced by conferences, and then the division winners and three wild cards from each conference would go to the playoffs. It's basically setting baseball up like the other major sports in the United States. I consider myself to be something of a baseball purist... but I honestly think that something this radical would be good for the game.
