its a shield bug,most times they'l be green

its actually a drone fly,a type of hoverfly that sort of mimics a bee

The second is the best, though I wish you could have brought the flower into focus a little better so that the bloom "popped" with the colors of the dragon fly. Great photos as always.

it varies,often no more than an inch away,but them sometimes a bit more

well you know when you go into the garden and theres a small flock of birds,most fly off but a few dont....insects are the same,some are brave some aren't

and then theres a theory of mine with the flies.....i'm positive they see another fly inthe camera lens which is actually a reflection of themselves
