No that's not the same thing. We're just not used to seeing them here. Most little boys are circumcised at birth. I'm not opposed to them, just never been with one.
Where? In the US in general? and why are they?

It seems like it's the norm to be circumcised in the States, whereas in Europe it's far less usual.

Non-religious circumcision
Infant circumcision was taken up in the United States, Australia and the English-speaking parts of Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and to a lesser extent in the United Kingdom.
Well in women it takes away there ability to have pleasure it doesn't in men. I don't think you can compare the procedures.............one is definitely barbaric.........
I was unused to seeing an uncircumsized man before Joseph, I don't recall if I'd had a lover who was before, certainly not one who was a regular lover....I er, had a rather plentiful love life u might say. But I didn't marry him for the looks of his penis anyway

Some religions require it. But there is also said to be less risk for any infections. Here's some explanations...

yeah but what is the reason for doing it?
Sounds pretty crazy to me, there's no way I'd leave someone do that to my son unless it was necessary
Jewish tradition is its origin, if I'm not mistaken.
Jewish leaders/doctors used to perform this surgery using their teeth. Yes you read that right. :eek
I believe it is still legal in New York, a baby reportedly contracted herpes from this method.![]()
Well there are many arguments for and against it. Some say it is a very quick procedure and the babies feel discomfort momentarily and others will argue that. Some say there are health benefits, others say there isn't.
OMG that's barbaric :eek
I knew it was a Jewish tradition to circumcise boys but I never realised that most Americans did it
It's even pretty normal to hear "uncirced" used as a slur against europeans/south americans etc...watch a hockey game in a bar around here and some drunk guy is screaming "uncirced bastard!" at some Russian hockey player.
We have a strange culture![]()

My little boy remains uncut!
Really? I can't believe I never heard this before, I'm actually shocked:eek
:clap
*has just realised I've probably insulted most the forum*
This is just my area, I'm sure not everyone is so immature in the US lol. Just trends I notice around home.
As does mine...My little boy remains uncut!
