Ever seen something you know you saw but can't explain? I have, and I know I saw it. Here's what happened. I was a supervisor of facility maintenance in a large multi-story building with a processing plant. My office was in the basement between the boiler room and the chiller room. It was winter and the chillers were not running, so it was quiet. It was only me in the office, as I had assigned my people their work for the day and they were off getting it done. I heard a noise in the chiller room. I had heard noises before, and chalked it up to pump chatter or other motor vibrations. But this time it got my attention enough that I got up and investigated. I turned the lights on as I entered and saw a man in a red flannel shirt toward the back of the room moving between the condenser pumps and the chemical pumps. I say "Hey! What are you doing?" And the guy kept going but faded away. I walked to where he had stood, and the hair on my arms and the back of my neck stood up! This feeling crept over me, and the air got 20 degrees colder immediately. :eek I said "Hey! It's cool! I'm leaving." And went back to my office and tripped the hell out for a while. I'm getting the same chill bumps right now as I type this! Every time I tell this story, the hair stands up on my arm. Interesting no?

The building is in downtown Macon Georgia and is the sight of an old college that burned down in or around 1962. I worked there about 10 years, and have been all over the building, and had seen things out of the corner of my eye in my peripheral vision that immediately were gone when I turned to look, and heard a distinct knock on my office door once. The night shift custodians in times past refused to go into parts of the basement alone I was told. It didn't seem to bother my current night crew, but they were aware of strange goings on.

Well, that's my spook story. Lets hear yours!

There were a couple times when I was a kid that I thought I heard creepy whispering voices in my grandma's house.

Yes, at Deadmans hill. Some guy I was with took a photo of the inside of the church at halloween and when he looked at it there was a big bonfire in the middle with a bolt of lightning going down into it. I'm not one for dead people ghosts, I think it was something natural, unexplained. It does lay on a couple of leylines which may have something to do with it, tis a spooky place...

The old Wesleyan Conservatory??? It burned down in 1963. A little before my time, but I've heard about it. ;)

I've never had any type of encounter myself but my mom had one that give me goosebumps every time I think about it. We had an old family friend that we were VERY close to over the years. We grew up across the street from her in Macon in the Bloomfield area. Over the years she moved to South Carolina and, eventually, to California where her daughter lived. We all remained close for years and she would speak w/ us at least once a week. A few years ago my mom tried to call her for one of their chats and got no answer. That night my mom had a dream. In the dream, Mrs. Gallant came to her and told her that she was so sorry but that she wasn't going to be able to see her anymore. The next day my mother tried to call her again. This time her daughter answered the phone...she had passed away a few days before and her daughter had been trying to locate our phone number so she could call and let us know. My mom is adamant that it wasn't the same as a real dream...that it was more like Mrs. Gallant was standing there speaking to her. Gives me chills!!!

Yup, that's the place. Happened a year before I was born. That was where I worked before I transferred out here.

Cool...or not, if you're not into ghost encounters, LOL My dad used to work at the old textile mill (Bibb Yarns) and the building always seemed like the type that would have some type of activity in it. I remember my dad mentioning noises and strange happenings, but it was so long ago that I don't remember what the full story was.

I lived in a house that had what I believe to be a demonic entity in it... changed my view of the world and my place in it.

Not really. Sometimes I've thought things out of the corner of my eye, but I think that happens to everyone.

I'm quite sceptical about the supernatural. I don't think people are lying, but I've been to a psychic show before and it was absolute bollocks. It really changed my point of view on that area of it. However, I do wonder if there's such a thing as ghosts, and what they really entail.

I think I've mentioned it here before, but I'll tell it again.....

When I was about 10 or 11, my mom took me to Winchester Mystery House in California. During the tour I was called over by a nice old lady wearing a long, dark blue dress w/white lace at the collar who started talking to me and offered me cookies. I followed her into another room so we could have said cookies. We had just entered the room when a tour guide came in from a door across the room and asked me what I was doing in there :mad. As I was explaining this nice lady had told me to come w/her and get cookies, I turned to point to her and she was gone.... After seeing pictures, I know it was Mrs Winchester. She was not a 'misty' apparition some seem to see. She was solid and in full-color. I thought she was a real person.

I got weird looks from the rest of the group upon my return to the fold :24:

I saw myself in the mirror one morning after a kickass crazy night of partying. That's about the scariest thing I've ever seen.

LOL

In seriousness I have never seen a ghost or anything of the sort.

Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night? Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic? Have you or your family ever seen a spook, spectre or ghost? If the answer is yes, then don't wait another minute. Pick up the phone and call the professionals... We're ready to believe you!!!

:D

I've never seen a Ghost, but I've felt like there was something in the room with me before. I was at an old building on Elmendorf Air Force Base and similar to the OP, the hair stood up on my arms and neck, and the immediate area got very cold. It was creepy as fuck. :eek

Only ever personally have I felt the hairs on my neck stand on end or see something out of the corner of my eye. There was this one Cathedral in a really old area of Miami. It isn't used anymore, so basically there for "scenery". My mom took my younger sister and I inside and told us how she took our older sister and brother in when they were 2 and a couple months. She told us that our older sister(2) looked up at my mom holding my brother (a couple months) and told her "mommy I don't feel good here". That gave me all sorts of goosebumps.

This happened to my older sister, she went to NY a few weeks before 9/11 and took a picture of the WTC from the Statue of Liberty. When she got the pics developed there was a weird blur in the picture around the towers. I don't know if someone fucked up her picture at the photo center or what, but that was creepy as hell!

Alice, I'm going to ask you a couple of standard questions, okay? Have you or any member of your family ever been diagnosed schizophrenic? Mentally incompetent?

I see ghosts too! I never believed them b4 and would always just feel the coldness in a room and have goose bumps when i enter an old house or hospitals. I never dared look around as I was a scaredy cat! But one day in college when we were out in a community outreach, we stayed over night at an old house! That was my first time I saw what they call a 'white lady ghost'. She was dressed in all white and with long hair. I saw her outside of the window after myself and classmates were discussing stuffs then suddenly 2 windows opened. The dogs were howling outside and I was the gutsy one to look out the window. There goes- I saw her!

2nd: @ an old Hospital: our gynecologist after we just delivered a baby was talking abt ghosts. She told me jokingly not to look at the ceiling. I thought she was just playing around to scare us. When i looked up, I saw a lady and a dude with blood all over their mouth hanging by the ceiling with hospital white sheets tied on their necks.

3rd: an old apartment i rented b4 when i was on clinicals. I keep on seeing this old lady dressed in all black sitting by the sofa. I can only see her thru a reflection on the mirror! But by the time i looked at her direction, she's not there! When i turn to look back at the mirror- i see her again. That was strange!

I've stopped going to old places nowadays! cant even have antiques in the house. I've also stopped looking around when i enter a room and I feel goosebumps or the sudden drop of temperature in a room ( chilly) as I see too much and it scares the life out of me! medo_musica.gif

Why? She offered me cookies. :cool

:24::eek unless her ultimate goal was to throw me in the oven & bake me :eek:24:

She seemed a gentle woman. I feel sorry that she felt so tormented for/by the souls of those killed by the rifles that she was never at rest.

That said, her torment gave steady employment to the few crews that were always working on her home.

If you're ever in the San Jose area, check it out. :cool
