It's not so much the number to me as it is the attitude. If you've got a high number because you've had a lot of short-term relationships, or just had one crazy summer, that's not that awful. If it's high because you go out every weekend purposefully to look for sex and more importantly, have no real standards about who gets it, then that's sluttier.
It shouldn't be different for men and women really, but it is. My boyfriend has a far higher number than me and I don't really give a shit - he's never been unfaithful, he was just a player when he was younger
but if it were the other way around, I don't know if all guys would be happy with a woman who'd ten times the number of partners they have.
