June already

How about that, sixth month in the year, any early memories?

Summer (winter for the southern hemisphere) is here. My only memories are going to Barcelona in March and having a great time

I remember when I was in high school, June was exam time. I loved to sit under a tree in the park with a blanket and study. I'm a summer person, so this is my favorite time of year............except for June bugs..yuk!

The last day of school was in June, which was always cause to celebrate. In elementary school and middle school, we always had a one hour day on the last day of school which was sweet. On the last day of school in 3rd grade, my dad picked me up from school and we took a day trip to NYC - it was the first and only time I was at the top of the world trade center- a little over a year before the Sept 11 attacks.

June also meant the start of summer camp, which I loathed.

This year? My brother graduated from high school. Huge accomplishment for him, so that was pretty exciting.

Other than that, not much has happened this year. My daughter turned 2 in February, though.

Summer babies pissed me off growing up lol. I wanted a pool party.

LOL! But we never got to enjoy the benefits of having our birthdays during a school year. I use to get pissed at them too. They were able to enjoy people remembering their birthday and celebrating in class. Not to mention, everyone turned 16 before me and was able to drive much sooner.
