i spent the day at the national cemetary. Honored some of my friends who died, spent the rest of the day with one of my deceased comrades family. It was a good day, atleast for me.

Me, I'm working while the rest of my family (except my younger brother who is also working) is at the lake. Sucks...but that's life and at least I'm getting paid double time.

I'm sorry for my fart comment. I honestly respect our troops and what they did/do for our country. Still sucks that i really didn't do shit today and it was a gorgeous day.

Just to be clear, I do find it sad when anyone dies in war but i personally cannot empathize when I have no personal experiences.

Suck it up? This is a long argument for tommorow, that i dont have energy for rightnow.

But remember..
We 'sucked it up' when our friends died to continue the mission.
We 'suck it up' when theres no running water and we shit in barrels and have to burn it at the end of the day, to continue the mission.
We 'suck it up' when there arent showers and we wipe ourselvs with baby wipes to continue the mission.
We 'suck it up' when we cant contact our familes for days, weeks, or even longer.. to continue the mission.
We 'suck it up' when the hot meals get cut off and were eating MRE's to continue the mission.
We even 'suck it up' when our wifes/girlfriends/ and fiances call to tell us we have been gone too long, and they are leaving us for someone else, to continue the mission.

As a veteran I dont give a flying fuck if you honor me on veterans day, but i will raise fucking hell if you dont honor the guys who gave their life for your protection, freedom and way of life. Half the shit we dont even agree with, but we still fight for.

When you choose not to even give a second of silence on memorial day, you are saying you dont appreciate the soldiers who since 1775 gave their lives to get independence from brittain, for the union to end slavery, for the allies to keep Nazism and Genocide at bay, and for us in Afghanistan... who try to bring the ungrateful people of the country a democracy so they dont let Al-Queda or Taliban orginizations in again to set up training camps to train a new wave of 9-11 like terrorists.

They gave so much, their children go parentless, their wives/husbands become widows, and their parents..... Think of them on memorial day. Think of the kid who will never know his Mom or Dad, and give that kid the respect... to know his mother or father didnt die thankless.
