hip/hop was meant to be on the streets,like early punk was..not in gold plated cribs...the difference is that getting popular killed real punk,it hasn't killed hip/hop....hip/hop isn't strong now,in general its watered down rubbish,just like bands like green day are watered down punk.

The reason Hip Hop isn't dead is because people who want Hip hop to stay it was in the 90s back still make music the way it used/should to be. i like some of that watered down commercial shit if for anything because it's danceavble but when I'm home i listen to independent music most of the time or older hip hop.
