When I was a kid I was small and not athletic. When teams were picked for sports I was the last one picked and often was the..."Naw, you take him!" kid. I am not athletic now but more so than many men my age. I was actually made to feel good about me this morning. Thursday morning there is a 50 and over bowling league at the lanes. I dropped by just to speak to a few friends while out running errands. I was asked several times by different people if I could sub-bowl with their team today.:thumbup

We never had this concept. The teacher would just split us into two sets. Much easier.

It depended on the sport with me.. soccer was always one of the first and baseball, volleyball and basket ball were last.

I am like a bull in a China shop in sports, I got picked when my team wanted someone on the other team injured. :24:

I'm pretty graceful, but I'm combative, and admittedly I used to be a terrible sport.

Ah... I am very very competitive when it comes to sports so.. I was usually on defensive .. Or a goalie.. ... I make a very effective wall.. I was 5'8" when others were still less than 5'...

I was the man behind the plate for several years. I "retired" in 2003 when I threw my face mask at an official and then shoved him. It was a turning point in my life where I realized that I can't go through life acting like that. I miss the game, but I have Umpire training in a few months, so that should satisfy my need to be on the field.

I was terrible at sports but its because i didnt have the passion for it when I was younger. looking back now I wish I would have had the drive to play football and soccer as they are my favorite sports now, I would have loved to learn to play

When it was a group of us playing sports, I was usually one of the first ones picked for soccer and football, middle for baseball, and dead last for most anything else. :24:

I feel ya, there. I was always the smallest or 2nd smallest kid until Jr. high. My Freshman year I had such a growth spurt and so much strength in my legs that I could spring up and grab basketball rims. I was the Around the World Champion for our JV team because of my outside shot accuracy--even beating out a guy who was 6'5" and I was 5'8"! I went on to run Track and Cross Country for several years and I maintained myself in better physical condition than anyone I know my age. In fact, most think I'm still in my 20s. All fine be me.:D
