Do women get bullied much? I don't mean that to sound condescending, but I can't say I have EVER seen a woman get bullied at school.

I think, bullying against females is performed in another way than bullying males; contains more psychic mobbing than physical.
(At the latest, when you've visited a girls' school, you'll see that woman definitely get bullied, too. >_>)

When I was growing up we always said. Girls don't fight fair. They fight to win. Claws, hair & teeth are just part of the deal. Girls can be far more cruel than guys.

In my neighborhood when my kids were little I had one of each. I have seen little girls sulled up and crying for days after a spat. I have seen two little boys just beat the hell out of each other and 15 minutes later share a popsicle.

I was bullied once a while in elementary and middle school. Kids in middle school treat each other like garbage anyway.

In high school I never had a problem.

There was one student in my grade who got bullied relentlessly by everyone during the early part of high school. I was stupid and jumped on the bandwagon for a bit and said some horrible things. Everyone justified it by claiming that the kid was "annoying" and just brought it upon himself, which was far from the case. Eventually after it all ended, I approached him and apologized for it, which I knew deep down, was the right thing to do.

Have to agree with Stripey and Hart, girls are generally cruel in more mental ways than physical. They don't hit and kick as much, but they can make you feel much worse.

I was quite lucky as a kid, I was never a victim of any serious bullying. I was a pretty average kid in all respects so no one ever took issue with me. I had fallings out with my friends that could probably be blown up to say 'OH MY GOD they were BULLYING you!!!' but I think with children, you have to be ready to put it in perspective. You put enough kids in one place, you will get those who clash. Hell, the same is true of adults! Kids are just less subtle.

Obviously serious bullying, the type that leads to kids taking drastic measures is something else. But I think every child will meet another kid they don't like who will call them a name, or make fun of them. You just have to learn from it, because more adult versions of that behaviour will crop up throughout your entire life.

That probably has something to do with the fact that I was homeschooled, so I didn't have that same type of social interaction as people that actually went to school. The only times I interacted with a group of people like that was when I played sports, and you generally don't bully one of the best players on any given team. I was never bullied before! Neither had bullied anyone. I was the one who'd come to the defense of the 'bullied ones'! Nope! not through cat fights ( hate those) instead followed school protocols. Being in an all girl's school and school run by nuns-they were very strict with bullying. If such occurs, the bully was ousted out of school immediately
