Wonderful shots!!!
Thanks Darrell
Cool shots! :thumbup
I don't think your photo shoots will ever be a success until you get some shots of a unicorn.
Thanks
I thought I posted a Unicorn shot for you once. Them buggers are extremely hard to spot. Something about some kind of magic dust or something makes 'em invisible to most cameras.
Cool pic. He was just hanging by the road? Serious? That would be awesome to see:nod:
There was still a lot of snow in the bush so he's booting around where the sun shines. I was on a two lane highway and he was on the opposite side just up on the bank. I was great to see and I just about wore a flat spot in my tires getting my car to stop.
Oh wow...that is awesome!!! Seriously, I would've just crapped my pants and cried like a girl. But, then again, we don't get many bears in Warner Robins. Well, except for the local high school football team and they suck. LOL
Seriously, Guy, nice shots.
Thanks Claw Lady. If a person stays in their car as a rule they are safe from a Black Bear. If it was a Grizzly that's an entirely different matter. They could rip a car door off or come through a window if they wanted to get you. Many years ago I saw the remnants of a campsite that was demolished by a Grizzly and it wasn't pretty.
Very nice shots, I love bears
Thanks
So do I... at a distance. :24:
see, you'd have to hold me back from wanting to cuddle him.....(I know, I know)...but check out those claws in the last pic:eek
It's the claws that got my attention. That you can take to the bank.
Excellent shots. Wild bears are that crazy hard to see eh.
So far they have been for me but that's because I haven't gone to where they are at. I imagine they are all over the place in the mountianis areas. We actually saw another Black Bear on the way back but I didn't stop due to all the cars that had already done so. I didn't think it was safe enough on that narrow highway. Over the last 4 years there have been some spotted in our area but none by me.
I think it was on Vancouver Island that my hosts spotted one once, just like that - on the side of the road eating. We stayed somewhat far away and I had no good camera ready.
Good going :thumbup
Thanks
My brother lived on an island way up north. It was close enough to Alaska for them to see it out their window... anywhoo he had had bears hanging around their yard many times.
Wow! oO Aren't bears dangerous?
Only if you try to kiss 'em.
Good pictures I would be a little scared not gonna lie..
Thanks
I felt safe but I will admit I kept the car in gear and my foot ready to hit the gas if push came to shove.
sooo coool greatr job really nice shots
Thanks
now i am jealous, nothing at all like that over here
i dont know about the bear running though,i think i might have
No you wouldn't have ran. You would have stayed in the car and whacked a few off. I did see a guy and gal walking around when we saw the second one. What a bunch of idiots.
I would have run too if I saw a bear!
Maybe the reason why he didn't notice you by the side of the highway looking at him is coz you didn't have any open food in the car that he can easily smell. I learned that from a Yosemite Forest Ranger! Too many bears out there stealing food from campers!
He knew we were there that I can assure you. He was to interested in eating after his long hibernation to have cared. That could have become an entirely different matter if I would have gotten out and approached him.
How far were you from the bear? What type of lense(s) did you use to have a decent shot?
Awesome shots :thumbup
Thanks
Two lanes of pavement and two widths of gravel shoulder, then add another 50' or so. I had my 100 - 400mm bolted on.... but I was so excited I forgot to change a couple of camera settings hence the exposure is a bit off. It's ok and I'll learn form it. There will be other bear shots now that I know where they hang out.
Aww he's so cute! These are really good shots, almost like he was posin' for you!
Thanks JC
