i'm not posting my pictures here anymore,and no this isn't a spur of the moment thing.....what i've noticed is that members can post pictures because their hoodies are too big or that their hair dye went wrong and get loads of responses,yet those of us who actually leave our front doors,get stung,bit and mutilated by alsorts of wild things get all but ignored

i posted this and as yet its had very few views,and no feed back...so whats the point?

Really? If you are referring to my pic as one of you stupid comments to other peoples pics, it was taken while out with friends on the way to another place. But so much for what you all know. But it really doesn't matter what other peoples pics are of because that's what they enjoy taking pics of, just like you enjoy wilderness type pics. To each their own.

Good, but the rest of what I said still stands. There's no need to make rude comments about others because you are unhappy that people don't respond to all of your photo pics.

I can honestly say I don't respond to them all because I get sick of looking at bugs. Doesn't mean they aren't good pics, but it doesn't mean others have to comment on each one either. I know you post more than just bugs, but the ones I run across are usually the bug ones.

I don't get a lot of replies on this site either but that doesn't stop me from posting because in the end I do it for me and the few that like my shots. It's no big deal. I used to shake my head at some of the stuff here but not any more because this isn't a site for photo enthusiasts and nothing surprises me.

That said, Ian I gotta tell you one of the reasons I stopped posting in your threads was due to the fact you rarely post in others... mine included. Kinda tit for tat.

I doubt it's constant affirmation that he's after. I believe it's more that his efforts are appreciated. There are very few people on this site that realize the effort and expense that's involved to do what we do. eg: Tomorrow I will be driving two hours one way at highway speeds to hopefully get a few decent shots of Marmots. That equates to a minimum 5 - 6 hours away from home, a good portion of a tank of gas, wear and tear on my vehicle etc. If I post something here I would be lucky to get a few comments but like I said before... I do this for myself and the few that enjoy my shots.

I post comments on pictures that appeal - whomever took them. I must admit, bugs don't appeal so much but I do still comment on those that are exceptional shots. Doesn't mean that the effort taken in other shots were folks don't comment is not appreciated.

I like macro shots a lot and wish I had the patience for it. But.... it takes a hell of a good shot to impress me.

The first shot is out of focus so I kinda blew by it. The second shot is nice though because the entire bug is in focus. :thumbup That's what I'm talking about.


I have to admit I don't go into the Photography section often enough. I use the " New Posts " feature here more than anything else. I'll work on that.

Don't stop posting your photos, they're amazing. People comment so many times on boob shots, but not many on yours which i don't get either.

It's the age and mindset of the majority of members at this forum. That isn't a slam... it's just the way forums work. Every one is different and OTZ is no exception.

I truly enjoy looking at your and Guyzerr's pictures, even though it takes a very long time to load them with my slow dial-up!..

I haven't seen the thread from your link yet, because I've been in a real rollercoaster since Friday with my niece's brain surgery, and have been in and out of the forums, or I would have looked and made a comment.. I'm going there after posting this..

To tell you the truth, I don't like or enjoy looking at other women's boob pictures... ~I honestly have enough just by looking at my boobs :willy_nilly: :eek ... so I won't even go into those threads.. :ninja

.... but I do like and enjoy looking at all kinds of animals.. they are my passion!.. :thumbup

So... please, give it another thought, and keep posting for those of us that enjoy your work..

Guy.. I will tell you the same I told Ian... I truly enjoy your pictures and his.. Sometimes it takes more time than I have to wait for the pages to load, so I give up.. or I would respond more often to those posts..~Just read my post above~.. :nod:

I wish I had the talent both of you have with the camera.. I'm all thumbs with it, but I do know how much effort -and money- it takes to do photography..
Both my son and daughter in law are in the arts, and my husband and I did contribute to some of those expenses when he was studying..:nod: ... for a looooong time, if you get my drift...

I don't know much about focus or anything else.. but I do know what I like, and I want to say that both of you are incredible talented with your animal pictures!.. :clap

What kind of responses are you looking for? I like your photos and I think you're a really good photograher. There are only so many ways to say "Great photo!" and I don't want that to be all I post every time I comment on someone's photo. I also like to make some other comment and if I can't think of anything more to say other than "Great photo!" sometimes I just pass up commenting altogether.
