Wow...what a BLAST that was!!! Tougher than I expected it to be, but mostly b/c the majority of the running was going UP the mountain through very muddy terrain. The obstacles were challenging, but doable (except the 12 foot wall which I could not climb over, unfortunately, but am RESOLVED to do w/o fail next year). Definitely got muddy and dirty but OMG, it was SO much fun. My legs and knee caps are scratched up and bruised...it's like a badge of honor, LOL

So without further ado...here's my pictures.

This is our group before we got ready to head out. That's me in the back in the pink shirt, my cousin Connie in the cowboy hat, my bestfriend Elizabeth in the other pink shirt, her wife Brandi in the blue tie-dye shirt, and my friend Que in the black tanktop and shorts.

The shuttle ride to the dash. Our driver has lived in the mountains for 27 years and is VERY comfortable driving the roads. 35 - 40 mph going down the mountain.

Our group at the entrance to the Warrior Dash. The extra female standing next to Que is her wife, Spoon. She was our cheerleader and personal photographer, LOL

The flames were our starting pistol, LOL

That's me coming over the floating log and that's my cousin, Connie, behind me.

That looked like fun. I got on thier website and found out I missed ours.

Oh it was a TON of fun. It was seriously challenging, but SUCH a feeling of accomplishment to finish it. It was a lot tougher than I expected it to be...I kept seeing people say "oh the Warrior Dash isn't all that extreme...try this race instead." Well they must be a lot tougher than me, LOL

awesome pictures congrats!

Thanks!!!

I'd fall on my ass within 5 minutes and probably hurt myself
Nahhhhh...the first 1/2 mile or so is just running (or walking, if you prefer). ;)

Lemme see if I can remember it all.

First you run/walk for about 1/2 mile...then you jump into the lake (COLD WATER!!!) and swim about 200 yards. Get out of the lake and run through those tires pictured up there, and then climb through or over junk cars (3 rows of them). Then you scale a 4 foot wall, crawl under barbed wire, and repeat (I think it's 4 walls and 4 sets of barbed wire...I busted my ass just walking from the barbed wire to the next wall b/c the mud was so slick, LOL). Run a little more (this starts the "up the mountain" part) and then scale a 12 foot wall (up and down, of course). After that you navigate more tires that go up a steep hill. Next is the cargo nets which you climb up and down. Lots more running up the mountain through a ton of mud (they have water running to make it muddier) and jumping over downed trees. Then you've got a dark tunnel to crawl through and cargo nets to work across (these are parallel to the ground and, believe it or not, much trickier to navigate than the ones you have to climb up). Lots more running and then you slide down a huge "water slide." Next it's into the mud pit to crawl under barbed wire. You get out of that and head into the lake again where you have to climb over 4 large logs that are spinning. Pull yourself up out of that using a rope and then you run a little further where you jump over 2 lines of fire. Then it's run it out another 100 yards maybe to the finish line. Woot woot!!! There WAS another obstacle called "arachnophobia" where there were tangled webs and shit hanging down but it caused too much bottlenecking and they took it down.

I'm so uncoordinated :24:

Thanks, guys. :) Next year I hope to finish at a better time AND kick that 12 foot wall's ass. I could've finished a little bit sooner by not stopping and waiting on my cousin, but I could tell that she was at the point where she really wanted to give up...and getting all of us to the finish line was way more important than anybody's actual time. Besides, I'm sure it didn't make but a couple of minutes difference. ;)
