At a garage waiting on the bad news on my wife's car. watching two little children playing on an I-pad. Bored to tears.

Ugh...I've had belts, sensors, valves, two alternators, a radiator, all new suspension parts put in...all in a few years, so I know the pain. Best of luck!

Well that is far better than the answer I expected :) Nevertheless, it can be equally has expensive. Hopefully the vehicle is still under warranty.

Sorry to hear that - I know first hand! Just the charge for them to run the diagnostic can be well over $100.00. :( 1 week after our Explorer's warranty was up, our gas cap light came on - which if left unserviced will cause the engine service light to come on - and it did. Ford wanted to charge us $125.00 just to hook it up to their computer. So the lights have become a permanent fixture and keep us company everywhere we go :)

I'm not sure if these are everywhere, but AutoZones and certain auto part stores offer free diagnostic services. They just use a little portable reader and hook it up and tell you what the code is flagged as.
