Not a very nice day for photography in area where I hang my hat but thought I would take a spin out to Reifel just for the heck of it. I also don't have a lot to report but an update is still an update.

The mate was very different today. I decided to leave it alone and not walk towards it but it had other ideas. It decided to shadow me regardless of where I went within 3 or 4 hundred yards of the nest and it cooperated when I wanted to fire off a few shots.

It was much too close for the 7D & 100 - 400 so I used the kit lens on the 50D for this. I like it.

I'm wondering if it even moved since I was there last weekend.

Thanks for looking. The time for hatching is getting closer and I have my fingers crossed.

It looks like it's been punctured from all angles on that first shot - like the look on its face though.

The close up shot is my favourite. :thumbup

They are a very interesting bird. They seem to watch people a lot and stay very sharp especially if there is a nest in the area.

Out of today's shots the close up would be my fav as well.

No problem buddy as I was teasing.. One day we do need to go shoot shots just for, how is it you say that "shits and giggles".. :p:24:

But I get up way earlier than that.. Its my little guy ( Francis ) that doesn't but I didn't have him this weekend.. ;)

In any case I may run up there next weekend and see what there is.. I may take Francis with me as it is his weekend with me.. He loves birds and will look forward to using his camera again with me..

Great shots of the bird and I have never seen those before so i would love to go.. :)
