Well I kinda did that. My high school friend had a chat mate and decided that they meet up. But my friend is chubby and she felt shy to meet him so she asked me a favor to pretend to be her. It wasn't really a date. More of just meeting eye to eye. He didn't look that bad though and he was nice.

No, and I'm married so I doubt I ever will! I'd be a bit wary about meeting/dating someone I only know online, you hear alot of horror stories, people not being what they say etc but weirdos aside I think it's a good way to meet people

You have just ruined online dating for several people here.

(...better safe than sorry though...)

But on the flip side, even people you meet in person might lie (eg saying they have a better job than they do) or once in a relationship, they might turn into a violent, controlling brute (if not worse).

Hey, I'm all for not meeting people online though I am also for not meeting people overall. That is just me though. Always weird and mysterious. Besides, until I get a definitive proof that girls don't have coodies...not gonna happen. I so couldn't type that with a straight face. :D

true, I suppose it's just easier to deceive you when you're not face to face

Yeah, it's definitely easier to decieve online, I won't argue with that.

I suppose I'm just abit old fashioned as well still in how to meet a partner, I mean I know you can meet people that you have a connection with and get on well with online but there is also the whole physical attraction bit, which you're missing until you meet the person in the flesh too and I think that's a major thing

Yeah that's why I said online dating wasn't my cup of tea.

I'll make friends online, but to me the physical attraction and chemistry requires meeting someone in real life.

Like when I met Zorak, it wasn't love at first sight or anything like that, but there was an attraction to me and we got on well and it progressed in a way that just wouldn't work online.

I believe in love at first sight.

(...where you expecting me to say something odd...)
