I worked at a hospital in the mid'70s for $1.73 an hour.

$1.25 per hour in 1968........... I paid room and board, bought my own stuff and still had cash left at the end of the week. I miss those days.

My first job that wasn't baby sitting was $8/hr.. that was in 2000 and it was more than minimum wage.

My first job was back in 1997 at Food Lion and in NC back then the minimum wage was $4.24/hr. Now in NC I think minimum wage is like $7.50/hr. or something like that. When I was 14 I would have thought that $7.25/hr. made me rich!!
