I call my mother every morning, Monday through Friday. Most days I am simply listening to whatever beef she has that day or wants to recount from the day before. Monday we normally catch up with whatever happened over the weekend. She is having some work done at her home and a worker showed up just as I called. After 3 or 4 times of her giving instructions to him or talking with him, I said, "Let me let you go."

I don't think she has any idea how much that irritates me to try to talk with someone while they are carrying on a conversation with someone else. If things were reversed I would have said, "Let me call you back, I have someone here I need to talk with.":nod:

What really pisses me off is when people try talk to me about shit that can wait when they can clearly see that I'm on the phone.

Hehe. My cat does that, too. She's all in your face and meowy til you give her the phone. Then she looks at you like, "What kind of stupid are you, EXACTLY?"

That happens to me all the damn time at work. I have one guy that comes in here almost daily to talk to me about some stupid inane thing that has absolutely nothing to do with work. Half the time I'll motion to him that I'm on the phone and he still comes over here and tries to talk to me.

I call my Mom everyday - if I feel impatient at times, I just remember that I'm lucky to still have her around to talk to - it's not always easy, but it helps to keep things in perspective.

LOL, I thought you were gonna be talking about people who use that phrase. It always bugs me when my sister-in-law calls me and I try to get off the phone w/ her for 15 minutes and then SHE says "well, let me let you go" like I'm the one that's been keeping HER on the phone for the past 15 minutes!!! LOL

But yes, I cannot stand what you were talking about, either. I make sure to either put the person I'm talking to on hold if they don't mind OR tell them I'll call them back. I can't stand to see someone at the grocery store at the register just yakking away on their phone!!!
