The Dawn of the Effeminate Male

So wait... a man is effeminate for shaving/trimming their pubes? Give me a fucking break here.

I rock a beard and have for most of my adult life in one form or another, I drink beer (though I'm generally picky about my beer), I watch almost every sport there is, and so on and so forth.

I defy stereotypes... I'm a computer geek/nerd that love sports, plays computer games, reads tons of books, but can enjoy a romantic comedy and (within the last few years) show my emotions when necessary. I hate the stereotype that a "real" man is big and burly, never shows emotion, drinks Budweiser or some other generic mass produced beer, and is typically what would be described as a "pig".

I consider myself to be just as much of a man as the beer swilling, hairy dude that belches without a second thought. Hell, I think I'm more of a man than they are. When I was in better shape, I wore slim-fit jeans and wouldn't have ruled out skinny jeans when I lost the rest of the weight (unfortunately I went the other direction).

Sorry for the rant, but to claim that someone is effeminate because they choose to shave their pubes or wear skinny jeans is so incredibly shallow that I don't even know where to begin.

I don't think it's shallow for some birds to say they prefer blokes who don't wear eyeliner etc.

No... I just think that it's shallow for a guy to be written off as not being a "real" man because of how he chooses to dress or groom their body, etc.

Yeah but that's liberal society for you...
In the old days; the guy with the best cock won.

But now cock fighting is illegal. Thanks PETA. :willy_nilly::D

Everyone has their own definition of "real" men and "effeminate" men. IMO, I don't think it really matters either way what someone else thinks of you. There are people out there who have a taste preference that you (general you) match. I don't see why it matters that some people think that it's more manly to be into cars and racing and drinking domestic beer and belching. To other people, that's crude and unattractive. The rules are the same for girls, too. Tomboys and girlie girls. It is what it is, and frankly, it shouldn't matter what someone else thinks, especially another guy, when you're not trying to get them to be interested in you.

Who cares?
