The EMA has been pounding the drum all week long about the storms blowing in today. We are under a torado watch and most of the schools in the area are closing at 1pm today.:willy_nilly:

Is that scary or are you used to tornadoes?
Its getting pretty bad here right now.
The other city I work in is getting 1.5 inch hail.

Tornadoes & hail are pretty common in the spring thru fall.
We get spin-off tornadoes from hurricanes too.
At least we don't get earthquakes & flooding isn't that common.
We do get locusts & army worms too.
I saw a thing about 1 inch hail a few minutes ago.

They just called me from the station, said they may need a few extra men this evening. had to ruin some young guys Friday night.
Hopefully it won't be anything bad, just some downed trees etc......

We have been under a tornado warning over an hour now. They keep extending it.
I have a friend who's visiting family in Brooks, GA right now. He's dealing with the tornado stuff, too. I told him not to die and that I think he should come home because we don't have tornadoes here.

They were expecting to have some tornado warnings around here yesterday too but luckily they were canceled.
Reminds me of a story they had on the news the other night. One school in a surrounding county is in big trouble. We had some big tornado scares a couple of weeks ago and the roof was actually torn off of part of one school building that had kids inside. No one called 911. They had an anonymous call from someone on their non emergency line instead. Parents are throwing a fit which is understandable.

Storm killed 3 people about 8 miles from me. 7 more injured and 7 more still missing as of two hours ago. The storm hit about 11pm which destroyed their mobile homes.
We just got cold rain. I'm not wanting a tornado unless I can go to Oz.
Fred. If one is known to be in tornado territory WHY buy a mobile home?
All some people can afford. Usually people abandon them for a stronger structure when the sirens sound.
Well I would rent a house until I could afford a down payment on a structure rather than buy a mobile home in tornado territory. And actually, I've always preferred brick houses
