Well my thoughts are that he's just now 6 months old, and there's another male cat around...perhaps he needs to be fixed? LOL!! But according to them, he's lonely, and he needs some nerve calming remedy. HA!!
When does he do it...all the time? When he cant see you?
When other cats are around?
He's at the age of needing to be fixed or getting laid. Either way, it will get annoying after a while. And if it goes on too long he will start spraying too. That's not fun nor does it smell good.

He starts about 6-7am, riles the dog all up, then goes to sleep lol. Or if we've got the doors open he'll sit there and yowl for hours.
Oooooh he's peed on our bed a couple times...:mad

SO, he does it when you ARE home, but they think he's lonely?
I think Nita is probably right then. Desexing time. He can probably smell females on heat.

I fix all my animals. Too many unwanted animals to adopt as it is. Increase their chances fix ur pets.
I agree hart. We haven't fixed Melvin yet only because money was an issue. In the county we live in you have to pay them to fix the cat, and you have to pay for the pain meds separately (??) and once you take them to be fixed the vet reports you to the county and you have to pay taxes on your animals!! But tomorrow they are giving away free spay and neuter vouchers, so Melvin will be fixed next week!!
I have worked with animals for over 30 years and did volunteer work with my vet for many of them.. I hope I can help you a little here..
If he is yowling and peeing out of the litter box, he might have a blockage!!.. It's extremely painful and it could be life threatening..
Have you seen any blood drops anywhere?.. Check on the litter box, your bed and where he sits.. If you see any blood, run.. don't walk.. to the vet or an emergency vet hospital!!..
One of my male cats had a blockage at four months and almost died.. He spent more than a week in intensive care.. and has had a number of them in the last 13 years of his life..
Keep a close watch on him and don't delay treatment..
My sister had suggested that as well, but there's no blood, and he's not yowling all the time. I spoke with our vet and he said that if it was a seriously foul-smelling pee that the cat was spraying and he needed to be fixed. I was worried at first because of the yowling, but the vet assures me it's nothing serious.
Glad to see you called your vet.. I would still keep an eye on him though, as you don't see blood all of the time.. Try to watch him when he is in the litter box and see if he is straining in some way when he has to pee..
Also, try to have him fixed as soon as possible, since it is much more difficult to get them to stop spraying once they start.

Oh he's going to be fixed this week!!! I'm tired of the spraying and the yowling! :willy_nilly:
