Crescent Moon

I am on a quest to get a nice crescent moon pic. I took this one tonight. It's not the best photo. The moon was setting and I kinda ran out of time with making camera adjustments so this is the best one I got. Still a neat shot, I think.



Any tips/ideas on how this shot could be improved are welcome.

Just from an onlooker's perspective, I think it's awesome!

It looks like the moon is a little jagged, which bugs me for some reason, but aren't crescents always jagged?

Yeah, it's a little over-exposed which is why it looks jagged. It bugs me too. but like I said, I ran out of time. The earth don't stand still for photographers.

Well, I'm not sure about wolves but we have had a lot of coyotes around lately.

I agree with you and HTC on the jaggedness of the crescent moon but gotcha there on what you said!

The thing that's a bit distracting to me is that light post @ the bottom mid-left corner of the pic....maybe crop it??? :unsure: just my 2 cents of course

I suspect the jaggedness is caused by craters on the surface. I doubt it has anything to do with being over exposed. It's neat looking in any event.

try reducing the noise in the original picture before adding it as a wallpaper?

I really like this photo. For a few reasons.

The colour of the moon is fantastic, I know you said it's from the colour of the light pollution, but it reminds me of the phrase; Between the radiant sun, and the crescent moon.
Whether you know the significance of such is unimportant, enjoy it for it's beauty.
