Hopefully Congress/Senate will work thru the weekend. It takes 3 business days after they sign it to put it into action so for sure I'm off work Monday, which I don't mind as Joe is off, but if it goes much longer, we are going to be hurting for money.

They have had since 10/1/10 to pass this budget. This is insane!!:mad
 
Yes. But any money we have to pay out of our savings will come from money we had geared toward building our garage/living quarters on the property. If we can't afford to build it by this fall, we won't get the money we had planned to use to build our real house and that will take us that much longer :(

They want to piss you off. It is the old emotional angle.

Only thing that irks me is the republicans trying to make social change out of this instead of just going after the budget.

It is sickening on both sides. The democrats are whining using scare tactics such as Pelosi claiming 6 million old people won't get meals. Which is a flat out friggin lie. She stated it 3 times. She should check out her sources and admit it is a lie and that the white house proposed twice the cuts in the 2012 budget for that particular agency

Then you have the morons on the right who want to go after planned parenthood

Gawd I wish we would elect some grown ups for a change.

We have to cut the budget and a hell of a lot more than is proposed. Both sides prey on the fact the sheeple who vote are clueless.

Just like when some companies go on strike and the company survives thru the strike we will find we don't need the govt as much as we thought when and if it shuts down. Let the people go on unemployment like the rest of the private sector and save the country a boat load of money :D

Yep. Real change will never happen with a 2 party system. They spend all their time demonizing their opposition instead of doing their jobs.
 
Sorry to hear that Hart :(

I've had my share of 3 furlough days per month for about 1 1/2 years with the State when Arnold Swarznegger was Governor. Our Hospital is under Department of Justice and facility runs 24/7. It was tough given there was a freeze hire and the hours that that hospital needed to be opened, we were like working with no pay! We petitioned and lobbied and Union was able to fight it. It was found out to be illegal and hence it was stopped last Nov 2010.

Hoping something can be worked out for your furloughs
 
Well we will no by 12pm tonite Eastern Time. I have been furloughed in the past, but we were always paid subsequently. This year with the Tea Party and all sorts of different influences I am not counting on it.

We had a staff meeting with everyone but the Judges. The Judges are the only ones coming in if their is a furlough. The idea of them answering phones, handing out puter discs the reps and experts, answering the phones, letting in the mail man and other service people. I sooo wish I were a fly on the wall. If there is a problem with a puter or telephone they will be helpless-heck some of them have trouble operating the damn copy machine!

This is all gamesmanship with only the poor working class being hurt.

Are you a full time employee of the government?

WHy wouldnt you still get paid, if its something out of your control? That would never happen here in a government job.

Or am I missing something
