Watching my neighbor across the road having her septic system pumped and looks like they are replacing fieldlines.
oh so exciting LOL
I don't think I could live in the country. I'd miss the sirens and dickheads squealing their tires and noisy neighbors even those i deplore them.
Well they werent outside my window... the court is 3-4 houses down the street. It's not kids playing basketball in T-shirts in freezing weather but it is out my window.:sarcasm
We still have those too. Plus motorcycles, 4-wheelers, horses & Sunday drivers 7 days a week on these country roads.
Oh yes. The joys of country living: septic tanks, midnight wake up calls from the cows across the street, paying out the yazoo for internet and trash pickup, and being charged an arm and a leg for home insurance.
I don't know if it is like this is all small towns but I live about 4 miles away from a fire station. However, since that is technically in a different "city" the one that would actually respond is about 22 miles away. When I asked them why the other one couldn't come they said "Oh they would, but only if it were an emergency and as long as they weren't busy." Hello....if my house is on FIRE I would call that an emergency. I have that to blame for the home insurance rates though.
Volunteer fire department right up the road. Nearest water hydrant over 1/4 mile away. I can relate to what you are saying.
We've got the pond in case the fire department is needed along with plenty of water.
We get the septic tank pumped out every couple of years and use a treatment that you flush down the toilet to make sure things are properly working to begin with when it comes to breaking down 'things'.
