Ok so since last October my old manager was fired for being a lazy douche and replaced by.. well an even lazier douche. I honestly didnt think it could get any worse but allow me to fill you in on a few things that have been happening.

1st off the bat were are made all these promises.

We'll have a functionable staff room, as apposed to a cleaners cupboard with a chair in it.
Manager will pull her weight. no hiding in the office all day.
The rota will be up 3 weeks in advance.
insentives every month for the prson who gets the most customers to fill out an online survey.
Regular insentives and bonuses.
Regular staff meeting to discuss issues.
and oh so many more.

How many have been kept? NONE

The rota gets put up on a saturday (Friday if were lucky) telling us our shift for the week starting Sunday.
The staff room is just a storage cupboard for not only the cleaners stuff but any xmas decorations or items she sees fit to jam in there. Were not allowed to eat in the bar and have to climb over junk to sit down.
Had no meeting, incentives, bonuses since we started despite being top of our game compaired to the rest of the company. (thus making her look good)

She does fuck all! since october she has done 3 closes. keeps putting me on a close then an open the following day so sometimes my shifts are longer then the amount i of time i have off between shifts.

Picture this! Busy rugby weekend. Wales are playing scotland in Edinburgh. lots of people about. she says "im just nipping out to post an important letter". Comes back 40 mins later with a hair cut!!

And today!! she goes out with her sister mid-shift to go fucking wedding dress shopping! then comes back and sits her fat arse down and has a coffee with her husband for 2 hours!!!!

the thing is, id complain but i honestly dont think it would get anywhere. Shes so far sucked up the area managers arse that i have no clue where he ends and she begins! its even harder because we have a really good team going and every time were successful at somehting it makes her look better and it really is not down to anywork that she is doing. or any motivation that she providing.

Get the team together and make a group complaint.
 
wed have to go higher than the area manager.. but even then i dont think theyd do anythign cos so far she "has got results" even if they are purely down to us. if we complain and nothign happens and it gets back to her, there will be no living with her.
 
I feel for you Pink. I've worked with managers that did squat all and took the credit for a real good team. But if you are working in a restaurant I bet you could get a job anywhere, they are always needing help. It's a damn hard job, I did it only 5 mos but I always tip good waitresses.
 
i dont think they are hard to stick to eg the rota. the 1st lot are gonna be a pain in the arse but no one said she couldnt do a roling rota and in any case once shes done the 1st 3 she still only has to make one a week. Also she has no excuses for leaving to get a hair cut mid shift, that is just plain rude. she sits her fat ass down with her sister and her mates and gets the staff to bring her coffees. thats just rubbing salt in the wounds if you ask me.
 
is it cos i have the most rediculously bad luck in terms of managers? and that the whole place is a joke yet im too dumb to move on? lol


the area manager came in today and we have a trainign day in the next few weeks for the chefs to try out the new menu. He said he is going to send the manager away so he can get our honest opinions on how things are going. HOLEY SHIT are we gonna let rip. Let me get my pen and paper! i dont wanna miss anything out.
