Sometimes I wish my temperature would go up. Unlike a lot of people, I'm pretty chipper when I run a fever. :tooth

Gah, really? Being too hot is my weakness when I'm overly warm it upsets... well, basically all of me. I've felt sick all evening cos I had a hot phase on the bus, which is just murder. I'd rather stick at too cold.

Less up and down today, thank fuck. Feeling a little weird all over though, still somewhat queasy from two bus journeys and not having eaten very much last night :ninja

Luckily, licorice solves everything.

Work lunches! Pros - meal paid for by boss, chance to get away from the office. Cons - pretending to be interested in making conversation with your boss for two hours, the minefield of ordering something not too expensive nor too cheap.


Our accounts lady is leaving so we all got taken out to a restaurant - 'all' being three of us and my boss. It was... weird :ninja it was a lovely place, but they were playing a CD including hits like 'Who Let The Dogs Out?' and 'Kung-Fu Fighting', which was so unusual to be listening to in a semi-posh little restaurant.


Then the accounts lady started telling us about how her daughter is going out with a nigerian man. And this is basically the end of the world. I'm not kidding, she used the word 'coon' at one point. All of this while our waiter of obviously foreign origins was serving the mains. Argh.


On the plus side, my dessert looked so pretty, I took a picture:

It was! It's just a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream but they really jazzed up the presentation

Briefly considered getting my ears pierced. I just can't picture it.

Really? I'm not the only one! My sisters rushed to get their's done as soon as they were allowed, I just don't see the appeal. Like, I can appreciate pretty earrings on other people, but the idea of doing it to myself is like.... meh


And like you say... it just seems like a lot of hassle.

I've had my ears pierced 4 times in each side. Now I only keep six of the holes open. The 4th hole on my right hand side never healed right so I just let it close up and I couldn't bare to have one side with more earrings in than the other, so I had to let the left one heal up.

Kate, do you find your hair gets caught in earrings at all? When I imagine wearing them I feel like my hair will just get tangled up in them or I'll yank them out by accident, I don't tie my hair back much :ninja

Depends on the type of earrings, what I'm doing and if it is really windy.

I usually wear stud type earrings or a pair of small hoops and I don't normally get my hair caught in them. With some long dangly earrings + windy days it sometimes get wrapped around but easily comes loose.

Back when I was in jr high (12-13 years old) I wanted to have my ears pierced SO bad. Mostly because "everyone else", including my best friend, was getting them pierced. I wasn't allowed to, though. By the time I moved away from home and got to the point where my parents didn't control my decisions, my fervor for pierced ears had died and I never got around to doing it. Really the only reason I had wanted to get them done was because it was the cool thing to do. I've pondered getting my nose or tongue pierced but I probably won't ever do that either, just because I'm too lazy to go out and do it. :tooth

Oh boy, tongue piercings... they look interesting, I don't think they're weird or anything like that, but I can't get over the idea of it actually happening... like, how?! I don't even understand how it works.


I mean, your tongue is just a big piece of muscle. It's got all tendons and stuff in it. Surely it hurts like fuck to stamp a big chunk of metal through it? :ninja
