The debate tournament threads were (in my opinion moronically) moved to the debate forum despite them being a game not unlike the OTz Surviver game. As such, I'm posting this thread in hopes of getting some people to vote for these different debates.

We would like to get a lot of participation on these, as I have very few votes for each debate currently. The voting is going to be open until Sunday night at 8pm Pacific time. The participants have worked hard on presenting their respective points of view, and it would be great if we could get people to vote.

I don't ask that you give a long drawn out reason behind your vote, but please base your vote on the merits of the debater and the points that they made, not on whether or not you agree with their stance.

Votes are to be sent to me via PM.

In the debate tournament threads only participants are allowed to post until the conclusion of said debate and the announcing the results of the votes, so going off topic in them really is no danger.
If you look at the list of people who are participating you can see that nearly all of them rarely venture into the debate section, heck even the rules in there state if you don't like this type of atmosphere don't enter.

As far as the seriousness of a vote goes, no one is asking that the voter should take apart the debater's posts and analyze them letter to letter. That you give a reason for your vote is simply to ensure no one votes for a particular person JUST because they like them.
That being said if someone wishes to go into detail in their votes that is also no problem and is actually welcome. :)

True. I'm just with Retro in pointing out the randomness of it all and waiting in vain for some sort of response.

It was fine for Red to participate and for Kim to vote and even help me clean up a thread, but since Tasha wants it moved, it's moved. We mustn't pollute the sacred ground of General Discussion.

At the same time a game has been going on in these hallowed grounds and has not been moved to...ohhhh, I don't know... GAMES.

A wee bit of consistency is all we ask. :D

Yeah I agree, it's not consistent. But we keep posting about it, I'm guessing the mods have been reading, and they obviously aren't going to do anything about it or it would have happened already. I'd rather just talk about the debates, at least that discussion could go somewhere :p

BTW since when did people really bitch about the opportunity of raising their post count...you know, something that doesn't happen in the game area.

Nothing random or moronic about moving debate threads to the debate section.
 
So! When do we find out the results? I can't remember when voting ends, I feel like it's tomorrow or tonight maybe.

I'm expecting to get my ass whipped, Siph kept being really unfair and making decent points :ninja
