Make the pain stop! Pretty please!

i feel you! im still having the issues with mine :(

Damn back problems! I wish I could have remembered the name of the muscle relaxer you were taking so I could request to try that instead of them having me do flexerile again, but oh well. Neither are really working and now I'm on Prednisone too as of today.

I ended up going to my doc today and they did X-rays, which I knew I didn't need, prescribed me the med to go with the others, and then I had to go get an MRI. It was the first MRI I've ever had. The only thing I kept thinking was I feel like I'm in an airplane and, "DAMN I hope this thing doesn't break and start rolling with me in it! hahaha

I should find out the news from that on Monday.

Anita I was on Naproxen for about 4 years and it stopped working. About 2 weeks ago my doc switched me to a new drug called Meloxicam and it seems to work very very well. You might want to talk to your doc about it. I was also on Prednisone ( honeymoon drug ) for a couple of weeks and have just finished being weaned off them. ( never stop them cold turkey ) It's a drug I really don't want to take again due to all the negative side effects I had.

The X-rays will probably show some nerve impediment if there is some. They use those in conjunction with the MRI's believe it or not. About MRI's. It's supposed to be the best imaging available but it didn't show the area where I broke my neck 35 or so years ago. The X-rays showed it though. Go figure.

I just meant I knew the x-ray wouldn't show anything because I had x-rays done back in November.
I have got to say I love how flexible my job is because I went to work this morning and they let me leave to go to the doc and let me stay late to make up the time I was gone instead of counting it against me. yay.

And I really hope the MRI pin points what's up because I just can't handle the not knowing what the problem is anymore.

Why did you say honeymood drug for the prednisone? I can't remember if I've taken it before so I've not really heard anything on it. Just read the drug information after filling the prescription.

I too have been prescribed naproxen and that stuff worked for about a week and hasn't since. My body rejects/breaks down medications way too fast so I don't get the full effect of most medications because my body burns it off too fast.

I'm dealing with Sciatica pain down my right leg, but mine sounds minor compared to yours. I go to a Chiro as well but I've found (and my osteopath agrees) if the Chiro can't fix it in 2-3 visits he probably can't and another plan of attack is needed. Have they discussed removing the disc? I know that sounds awful but I got to the point where we had to discuss it but luckily I was responding to treatment and was able to avoid surgery. Try some BioFreeze for short term relief, that stuff is amazing.

When I picked up the prescription the druggist looked at the bottle and said " Oh.. the honeymoon drug ". I was a bit taken aback but didn't question her about the comment. I found out all by mineself after I took the drug and it went like this.... :D

When I popped the first dose all of my leg muscles were incredibly sore. They felt as if I had run a gazillion miles and getting up from a chair was difficult. Walking was next to impossible. Within four hours I could feel the muscles starting to relax and over the course of the next few days I had zero pain anywhere. No leg pains, no back pains, no neck, shoulder or upper spine pain. Zero, zilch nadda and I hadn't felt that good in years. As I was being weened off them the pain started again but it's being managed by the other drug I mentioned.

So now about the name honeymoon drug...:D Lets assume for a minute me and you get married :thumbup and neither of us has done the deed..ever. :( It's our honeymoon and we discover um... you know...s...se....sex. :) We're like a couple of mink :24: and our muscles are paying dearly for it. Along comes Mr.Back Alley doc and he gives us some of that prednisone. Say goodbye to the pain and on with the honeymoon. c065.gif That's about the best I can figure it out anyway. :D
