I was in one last year. It was fun for awhile. But It just did not seem right.
I think this should be the new standard. Then maybe hardcore religious people won't feel so shameful about divorce. We promised to "be truthful and loyal" and to remain together "for as long as love shall last."... none of that death do us part stuff.
We promised to "be truthful and loyal" and to remain together "for as long as love shall last."... none of that death do us part stuff.
Furthermore, we did have a civil ceremony, which is the standard vow set.
However, our religious ceremony was a Pagan Handfasting... We promised to "be truthful and loyal" and to remain together "for as long as love shall last."... none of that death do us part stuff.
Yup. I see you continually telling people how ignorant they are when you don't agree with what they have to say. It's getting old.
If you don't like my choice of words, I really don't care. There are plenty of people that agree with what I said.
She is being ignorant... she's made absolutely not effort to try and understand the situation. She's making judgments based on her own limited understanding. She went to so far as to say that Butterfly's marriage wasn't actually a marriage earlier in this thread. If that isn't ignorant, then what is? I didn't say that what she was saying was ignorant because I don't agree with it. I'm saying that what she said was ignorant because it was.

Ah-ha! I see Retro's been getting popular with others, too.:jk Yeah, I don't tolerate ignorance. He has the 'dubious distinction' of being the 1st on my Ignore list.btw Retro thanks for the red rep. You have the dubious distinction of being the first person to do that. :thumbup
No, marriage IS clearly defined. Look it up in your Webster's dictionary. It's even been updated to reword the 'man and woman' traditional definition. I don't feel marriage is something that's open to interpretation. It's cut and dry and has been for a very long time. Friend is a word that's open to interpretation. Love is even open to interpretation. The defintion of marriage is as clear as 1 + 1 = 2.I don't believe there is a definition for marriage to give. It's like a recipe in my world, everyone has their own variations to suit their tastes.
Very well put.I don't "get" open relationships.
and can we stop with this non-judgmental stuff everyone is judging each other.

Ignorance:
the state or fact of being ignorant : lack of knowledge, education, or awareness
:woohoo:
I feel so damn special.
For those wondering,
That's the definition of ignorance, and that is what some people have expressed in this very thread. Just because you don't understand something doesn't give you the right to tell someone else that their marriage is illegitimate. It's different from others, but that doesn't mean a thing in the grand scheme of things.
Yawn.
