To slag off is to talk shit about something or someone.
I know what it is, but how did I slag someone off?
Regardless of what people will quote me on, it's not my intentions anyway, can everyone just accept that and deal with it please? I don't constantly post those types of threads, get real people.
I just want to share stuff with people, stuff that is interesting, stuff that people want to talk about without getting all shitty over some artificial barrier.

You started a thread about how stupid Americans are when it comes to the supernatural. It might be true what you posted but unless you are stupid, it's obviously going to be seem by some as trying to talk trash about their country and going to get some negative reaction. Then you cant hack that and start a thread moaning about it wherein the title you allude to the fact it's an American problem.
You seem in a really argumentative mood on here, in general lately. If you dont want negative reactions from people, dont pick fights. It really is that simple.

No where in the post did it say Americans are stupid.
You have got to be fucking kidding me? The OP was a list of the high percentage of Americans who believe incorrect and generally seen as unlikely things about the supernatural.
Calling someone "stupid" is a judgment call. You made that judgment call, not the OP. The OP just laid out the statistics. Statistics don't make judgment calls, people do.
Exactly, science doesn't judge, it's not biased. Numbers don't mean anything by themselves until someone reads them

It's nothing to do with being gullible and I really don't even think that word applies here. Anyway, I'll break it down simply:
YOU think it implies Americans are stupid because YOU do not believe in the supernatural. Someone who believes in the Supernatural will not come to the same conclusion.
So, as you SHOULD be able to see, it's all about interpretation. The OP simply posted some statistics, the judgment calls came from everyone else.

If I have a personal opinion or need to state facts (whether positive or negative) about my country and it's people, I will.
I would also consider myself a proud American, but not proud enough to turn a blind eye or stick her head in the sand to the imperfections and faults we have. Every single country has them.

I can be proud of my country without towing the line just to please the elites. I disagree with many of the actions of the government and don't approve of lots of things I see within society. That doesn't make me unpatriotic. I've never been called unpatriotic for recognizing the flaws of my country.
How can you not understand the difference between disagreeing with the actions of someone and yet still accepting them as people? Parents and family members have unconditional love for those who do even the worst.

Hmm no I really don't agree I'm afraid. A country, your relationship to it, is highly arbitrary, your relationship to your countrymen equally so. By being proud of your country it implies a negative, which is forced on everyone else not in your country. I don't see the need to relevance for that in this day and age. And, if you take it to it's logical conclusion, which many people do, you end up with all manner of horrible behaviour.
Out of interest, why are you proud of your country exactly? Is it something specific?
