In one of the strangest twists in college football's fiercest rivalry, Auburn police on Thursday morning arrested a 62-year-old man for intentionally poisoning the 130-year-old oak trees at Toomer's Corner, which for generations have been rolled with toilet paper by Auburn fans after sports victories.

This is most definitely a situation where a rivalry went way the hell too far.

what a bitter old cretin.....killing a fine tree because of jealousy

2 beautiful 130 year old oaks. According to the professors researching the damage he poisoned those trees at 50 times the level required to kill healthy trees. These trees were already struggling recently due to a couple of fires & other damage. The poison level may be sufficient to kill every living plant within a large area. If they cannot neutralize the poison they will have to remove the soil, structures, sidewalks & streets.
