both photos nice, but there is something that make me like the second photo more.

I'm drawn to the second more as well and I think it's because it's better lit. The sun was in the heavy clouds behind me and in the first shot I was pointed in that direction.

How the hell do you get so close?! What lens are u using? U must have ALOT of patience to do this!

I put on a suit that lets me become invisible and then I neek up on 'em just in case it doesn't work. ;)
Actually it's just patience and a lot of luck. :D

I used a Canon 100 - 400IS

Reminds me a bit of our smallest woodpecker, the lesser spotted. Thats only the size of a sparrow too.
I checked it out and they look very similar but without researching it more I really don't know for sure. They look at least like they are from the same family. Nice id btw Peter.
