What did you expect?

The last week or so, what with it being the Valentines Bidding season, I've suddenly gotten the chance to put faces to the usernames! There are lots of people who either don't post pictures of themselves often, or just haven't done so recently enough for me to have seen and sometimes it's been pretty surprising - I often have a rough idea of what someone looks like in my head from reading their posts, and half the time, I'm completely wrong.

Does everyone else tend to be wrong too, or am I just really bad at visualisation? Was everyone here what you were expecting from their posting style, or were their real faces a surprise?

Haha! That is a perfect example, I always imagined you being cat-like, I said that in another thread didn't I it was very confusing to learn that you are in fact human shaped.

When I see someones post and it's a male I visualize his face based on what I read. When it's a woman I visualize other things. Faces aren't important.

I'm not saying that I think people look like their avatars but the avatar influences my visualisation...sometimes in the opposite direction, depending on how/what they post.

As for the posting style of a member...... There were two instances where I was sort of unsure of the members due to how they posted. I would almost avoid them...... until I saw their pictures.

Not sure why...... but knowing who is saying what is being said and being able to visualize them.... makes them less formidable. :nod:
