Drugs.

why not?

I only ask because there seems to be a consensus that "drugs are bad, m'kay"
but why not try it if trying it wont kill you

I am not sure why it wasn't because I thought they were bad... *shrugs* I had friends that were always doing something around me.. if I ever felt like I wanted it, they would have gladly shared.. I just never felt like I wanted it.

I have this thing about loosing control... :willy_nilly: There are very few times that I will let myself even drink enough to feel tipsy.. Might have something to do with my reluctance to try drugs.

I still believe that drugs are pointless unless they are being used for medical purposes. In my opinion, if you need drugs in order to have a good time then that is letting one know a bit more on the person you are as a whole. However, I suppose there are some people who would use drugs because it has become apart of their lives in a sense. A daily routine so to speak. It is just ashame that so many make the claim of "...It's not like I'm gonna die..." and yet so many do as time goes on. Though I am opposed to the use of drugs as an individual, I shall never judge another on their choice of doing drugs. I have no clue about why they choose to continue so therefore it is just better to respect their decisions in doing them and accept them for who they are overall. Just my own thoughts though.

Eh, I think sometimes once a person gets into drugs it doesn't make them a bad person or makes them someone to look down on. Like I said before, I used to smoke pot. It wasn't because I felt I NEEDED to do it because my friends were, or because I felt I needed to fulfill my purpose or life. The 2 girls I knew that died were smart, beautiful and talented. Their lives were wasted on something that they let overwhelm their minds and bodies. But they weren't bad people.

I did not mean that they are "bad people" or that they should be frowned upon by society. I am still defiant in my belief that there is good in everyone. I just believe it gives you more of an insight to who they are at times. Such as not being naturally happy at times or being dependent on drugs in order to make it through the day. Again, this is just sometimes in any case. The reasons, as usual, are different for every person. However, a good majority do drugs in order to "fix" something that is missing from their own lives at times. My apologies to anyone who might have thought I meant they were automatically "bad" and deserve to be shunned from society. I would never want that to happen to anyone at all. People deserve to be judged by the personality they portray to the world and even then people still deserve a second chance no matter the reason.

there's a huge difference between 'need' and 'want'. i apparently need to smoke weed or my chemistry gets whacked and i get into trouble because of it. i want to do stronger drugs occasionally for various reasons -- i've learned an awful lot from psychedelics. i am not driven by any addiction to any of them. i don't spend money on them that i can't afford to spend. i rarely spend money on psychedelics at all -- the best things in life are free.

granted the numbers of people who ruin their own lives or the lives of others using drugs is likely to be significantly larger, but there are people who use drugs in ways that are beneficial to them. remember that nicotine, caffeine and alcohol are all psychotropic drugs as well as lots of the over-the-counter and prescription medicines. it's not the drugs that are bad or the people using them -- it's the criminals who distribute them and the politicians playing both ends from the middle that are bad.

That's an excellent take on things. :thumbup

Very awesomatical insight, TommyTooter. I agree, there is a fine line between "needing" and "wanting" drugs. Just ashame that some need them at all and I am referring to the illegal substances.
