Yesterday my wife and I had several errands to run. She wanted to visit some of the little specialty shops downtown and we were just moving at a leisurely pace. It was a beautiful day in the upper 60's & low 70's. She wanted to eat at a little sandwich shop downtown at their outside tables. Which we did and it was very nice. After eating we started walking around and looking. Within the hour we were both sick at our stomach. I spent most of the afternoon in the bathroom dealing with stomach cramps. :(

It's what I would do. They need to know.... just in case others reported something too. Plus..... if they do know anything, they can let you know. Or maybe they wouldn't want to do that. Bad publicity.

Inmy professional opinion it's physically impossible that the meal they just ate could have given them food poisoning.

Food poisoning can only occur once bacteria are absorbed into you blood stream during the digestive process - which happens at the small intestine. It takes a minimum of 12 hours for food to reach that point in your body.

The vast majority of degestive distress is actually cause by viruses that are picked up from casual contact with surfaces. Someone who is sick with virus touches a doorknob or handrail in a public place, we come along later and the bug gets into our system. When it finally kicks in, your stomach starts to reject food as part of the healing process, and we feel sick to our stomach, and sometimes throw up. But it was NOT the food that was just eaten that was the cause.

No matter what, hope you feel better Fred. I had a bug earlier this week and it was miserable.

It took about 7 hours for mine to kick in. Lemon pie. Thank GOD I threw away half of it...I can't imagine how much sicker I would've been had I eaten the whole piece of pie!!!
