No offense. Am I the only one that thinks its kinda funny people start noob threads saying they're new when it's obviously evident?
V could implement that you NEED to make an introduction before you post anything else. Maybe this should be in the suggestion forum LOLWell considering if they post in another thread they get harassed about how they need to make an introduction thread, I don't. That's one of the biggest complaints we get, honestly, is the way that new members are treated.
I'm not being negative? I think its funny, how is that negative?

You are making fun of them. If I was new and I'd read this thread I wouldn't feel welcome. And yes, I did see you went in some threads and said "welcome" to some new members. But welcoming them is all about the attitude - if the one in whose thread you posted came here and saw what you said they wouldn't take your welcoming post seriously.
The attitude towards new members has been shitty. We have been initiating changes in the management, but we also need to make some changes with the genera attitude of the "senior" members. Go out of your way to engage a new member in a conversation, sen them a PM saying you are happy they joined the site. Believe me, it makes a LOT of difference. And you will notice we have some great people amongst the "noobs".
 I haven't noticed newbies being treated badly. :dunno Unless this is happening in the debate/philosophy/religion section. I never go there.
I haven't either, but I don't read every post. Well, I take that back...if you consider being greeted with "perhaps you should post an introduction thread before posting in other threads" treating someone badly, I have seen that. I can see that as being kinda bitchy maybe, but I wouldn't think it was being out and out rude. *shrugs* We have had several complaints, though. I haven't noticed newbies being treated badly. :dunno Unless this is happening in the debate/philosophy/religion section. Huh??? I didn't see it in the new rules. Has something been added???If treating new members nicely has to be added to the rules of the forum then obviously it has been an issue at least a couple times. :dunno

I do want to add one thing- I would like my members to welcome the new members instead of tear them down- that is something alot of people on this site need to work on.
Yeah, I just found it. It's not a new rule, though...it's just a reminder. But it's a reminder b/c of the complaints we've gotten. It is not in the OP tho.
I don't think he's making fun of them or anything...he's just saying he finds it funny. I try to post a welcome message in introduction threads when I think about it, but I would venture to say not many of us will take the time out to PM a new member. A welcoming attitude in threads that new members post in is plenty, IMO.
And I commend you for doing so...I'm sure it's much appreciated. But I stand by my original statement that not many people will take the time to do that. I can promise any new member, as long as they're not a spammer or a troll, that they ARE welcome here and I expect our members to do their best in making them feel that way. After all, we were all new at some point, right???I sent PMs, reps or visitor messages to newbs welcoming them, true not as much lately. It does make a difference in giving them the feeling they are accepted :dunno
