I have decided on a Garmin nuvi 1490LMT with lifetime map updates, free traffic, and a SD memory slot. I could have purchased a TomTom for all most half the price, but it did not include the SD slot and as I said there are tons of negative comments about new Tomtoms online.
Garmin issues- Free Garmin traffic updates, if you don't pay $60 per year, advertisements appear, however, they only appear when the car is at rest. They don't appear while driving. Free lifetime maps are lifetime, not just a year as someone told me.

POI = Points of Interests .... for those who don't know..
Garmin has a FREE POI Loader that makes using these very useful and easy to install. I highly recommend installing them on an SD Card to make it easy to change and update them regularly..

Everyone will find GPS POI Factory but I found them very hard to use.. They are very out dated and want money for their out dated stuff..

As well Garmin offers it's own POIs and Traffic Camera service for a fee..
But you can get most Red Lights / Speed Traps as an example from GPS Passion for free in the download section. They also have tons of locations you can upload, such as your favorite stores, arena, bank motel/hotel..

I don't update POI's cuz as long as mine knows where all the TimmyHo's are I'm good to go. So far it hasn't let me down.
That would be fine if all franchises would automatically be uploaded to the POI but someone told me they have to pay to be on those.. It explained why many locations did not show up..
Also having the POIs loaded in a special spot makes it easy to find all one specific store by selecting on that name, as well as setting proximity alarms..
