Negative mainly. For me it means someone who goes into strops over stuff etc.
That's how I feel too.
I'm... guilty pleasure, I'm watching trash TV (Toddlers and Tiaras, mostly for shock factor) and the mom wrote on the card for the MC to read that the one word to describe her daughter was "diva"... I just don't see how that's a plus.

Diva is someone hard to deal with....negative connotation
I thought a diva was someone who dances to disco music.
Depends on the situation and my inflection. if I am trying to be humorous, I might whip that out at someone.
Negative. I usually think of it as a word to describe arrogant, self centred women who make a fuss about the slightest wrong done them while treating others like dirt.
How did 'diva' become a bad word? I Google it and it's all positive stuff =S
There was one mom... Ooh, she lit my fire. She was waxing her daughter's eyebrows, and her daughter was agreeable and not freaking out like the clip that went around the web not too long ago. But she kept rewaxing the same parts. And she overdid them too.
But you can do serious damage yanking off wax from the same spot over and over again.

Negative. And I hate the mothers in Toddlers & Tiaras. They make me sick. Along with the seemingly general consensus, a diva is a bratty, self-centered, stuck-up, arrogant woman.
