Beep Beep

Someone in this building carpools, and the car just pulls up and honks. I do cross my fingers that it's someone on the front side of the building, because not everyone has to be up at 8. But I cannot stand people who honk. (Or those who sit in the parking lot instead of pulling into a spot temporarily, but that's another rant.)

If someone beep beeped for you, would you go outside? Maybe not in a carpool situation, but just in general?

It's very common here in Spain. At all hours of the day. They just don't care. And never a single beep, they hold the horn until the person comes down. Double parking causes this a lot too.

You kinda get used to it. The Spanish are very loud people, they have no problem disturbing an entire neighbourhood. And normally people don't complain.

If someone was beeping for me I'd go down just to shut them up.

That's a really good point Zirc. Especially in a building with 16 apartments.

I try to be ready if I know someone is coming. And if they're supposed to be here at 3 PM or whatever, I'm on the steps a little before 3 PM unless they've called to say they're late (another pet peeve).

But if someone, say a date or I guess now Matt, were to honk at me, you can bet your ass I wouldn't go out until they came up and knocked on the door like a civilized person. Unless of course, Matt's in a hurry and he calls to say hey, turning in, come out now. Which is far better than "beep beep". Or like Ed said beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

If someone is giving you lift then they're doing you a favour so I wouldn't give out about them honking! Do I think it's rude? no not really, well not unless it's late at night/early in the morning, then It's rude to the neighbours.

:homo: If it's not real early or late I don't mind, I don't usually honk at folks though but I do hate being kept waiting, especially if I'm doing someone else a favor

There are always mobile phones to deal with stuff like that instead annoying everyone around with a loud irritating beeeeeeeeeeeeeep, or even worse with many beeeep beeeep beeeep beeeeeeeeeeeep's
