Can y'all please get back on topic? If you must, make another thread to discuss another topic. Joe wanted to talk about little girls growing up too fast.

I remember not being able to find shorts that met dress code in high school. And I look at where my fingertips fall now, and I could get away with some pretty damn short shorts.

The clothes I see in the girls' sections now disgust me. I don't wear clothes that have that connotation and I can assure you my daughter(s) won't either. They will look like little girls and they will act like little girls. I'm not going to go all pageant mom on them and I won't be a helicopter mom, but I won't let them have free reign either. The problem is that parents have forgotten how to be parents and are afraid to be the bad guy.

I totally agree, girls are growing up WAY too quickly!
More than once I have seen young teenage girls out and about dressed more provocatively and sexily than me, it's so wrong. I think parents play a large role in this, as someone has already said they are the ones who buy the clothes for them!

In NZ and Australia there is a shop called supre. It is notorious for stocking trashy clothes. I remember a few years ago they had t-shirts in sizes for pretty young girls with 'slut' printed on them....what parent in their right mind would allow their young or teenage daughter to wear a t-shirt that says that?! Its crazy!

And so annoying how Supre only fits skinny girls too, that is just rude man.

Thank you!!
And yes
parents have forgotten how to be parents

This statement rings so true for SO many parents. You may not be able to keep your kids from living in this materialized, sexed-up world we live in, but you can keep them from being a part of it while they're still children.

Oh good--we're back on topic. I think, anyway. I think it's appalling that vigorous searching is required in department stores such as WalMart and Target to find girls' clothes without bullshit written on the butts. I'm not talking about teenager-sized clothes, either. It starts at kid's size 8 and even lower! WTF is wrong with the fashion world? If those asshole designers want their 8-yr-olds wearing skankwear, then they can design and manufacture it out of their homes and keep it there! It's not just the parents that are to blame here. Clothing manufacturers need to take responsibility for coming out with this trash. Boycott all of these idiot designers! If it's not selling, they'll wisen up. That's my rant.

True, and I pity the girls whom have whores for mothers.

I m really shocked at what the hell is going on with kids and mothers in the West!! What has made parents not to stay as parents and kids not as kids??? I suggest a survey ought to be conducted!!:)
