Why are other nuts up at this time of evening?

I'm on my way to bed right now. I'm up all night because I work nights.Why are other nuts up at this time of evening?
Well u got a good excuse Zirc, ur excluded from the nut category (at least on this)

I'm stuck in a rut and I can't seem to break the cycle. I go to bed, fall asleep in a few minutes then wake up between 2:30 & 3:30. Brain kicks into gear and I can't shut my head off so I end up having long days. Going back to sleep is next to impossible.
Try this....
Once you are actually in bed and ready for slumberland.... tell yourself that you are not going to think of anything tonight. Give yourself permission to think about it tomorrow when you wake up. If you find your thoughts wandering towards the worries you have.... tell yourself to stop thinking about it. It might take a few times to get your mind to stop thinking about it.... but with persistence.... you can do it.
Oh! And keep a pen and notepad beside the bed. Write the worries down that come to mind and tell yourself they'll still be there tomorrow. Tonight you need the sleep and rest.
Mind over matter can work you know. But only if you can convince yourself of it.
..... and try a cup of milk before bed.
I was up at 4...some 4 hours ago, but am now wide awake and will be heading to read about my class....so yeah technically I could have came down and started the exact same thread and would have beaten you by a whole two hours, but I said screw it let some other person start the thread for me....oh yeah and Dunkins was in my hands no more than ten minutes ago...
It's only 12:50 a.m here. Normal time lol.
I woke up at 7:30 and just stayed in bed for a half hour or so...I ususally have brunch with my daughter on saturday and then do a little shopping. I don't work weekends.

I don't have any trouble going to sleep. It's staying asleep that's the problem. About the pen and paper thing. That seems kinda nutz to me considering I can't shut my head off to begin with. If I had to write stuff down when I woke up in the middle of the night I'd be thinking about the fucking book I was about to write. This rut has been off an on since I was a little boy. I'd be up, dressed and out the door well before any of the rest of my family.

No no..... Write the list just before you turn the light off to go to sleep. Give yourself permission to deal with it the next day.
It's not like you can do anything about it anyway... .what with being all in bed and such and so forth.
