Depends on the horse, really. Some are easily spooked while others are what we call "bomb proof". I doubt they would use overly skittish horses in the police force. If a horse is going to get spooked by someone slapping it I don't think it would be much use to a police officer.

I hope the horse is NOT one of those bad attitude police horses. Just like you, i hate animal cruelty/abuse and wouldn't want him be subdued to a glue factory if just in case :( That would just be too sad to imagine :(

What i know though is that: we were told that any specially trained animals to serve the force are not regular breed animals and most often than not they are imported. They look for good breeds all over the world just to get the BEST for the force. They undergo a much more rigid training than regular police men b4 they are even let go to serve in the force and be exposed to public etc. That per each day the animals have like training and stuff to keep them always up to par as they require perfection from them :cool

I agree :nod: as stated above- the horses or any animals they train for such a service to police force would be highly picked breeds and they wouldn't just go and fund some regular horse that can easily be spooked. That would just be a waste of money for gov't funding. Of course am not saying that the gov't doesn't waste enough money already as it is. Forensics and police force -wise- and with rigid animal training etc- they wouldn't settle for anything less :ninja
