Natural Disasters

I've been told that I was in an earthquake when I lived in Vancouver. It was a very minor tremor, though and I managed to sleep through it so I'm not sure if that counts. :ninja

I drove through a tornado system on my way to Kentucky once. Never saw a funnel cloud but there were times when I couldn't see because it was raining so hard and the hail freaked me out. Idiot that I am I just kept on driving instead of pulling over. blink.png

I lived in Edmonton in '87 when that big ass tornado went through. It missed our place by a lot less than a mile. That got my attention.

Hurricane Ike flooded us in 08. we were 1st time home buyers, had bought our house and moved in that Feb. we had 3 feet of water. enough to destroy and trash everything! i never cried so hard. i had never been through something so tramatic. we almost didnt evacuate, but that Thursday hubby's dad forced us. i wanted to leave, but hubby didnt. glad we did!!

despite where i live being surrounded by nothing but water and having no levees, the city has never flooded before!! Ike came in at just the right position.

i can share pictures if anyone wants.
