Interesting weather predictions.

The GDOT has already issued an advance warning for people to stay home Monday. People are flocking to the grocery stores, stocking up on stuff as the odds for a power outage are rather good.

It's supposed to start snowing here in the next few hours and not stop until Tuesday. :(

Ryder this will give you an idea what an ice storm can do. When I was trucking back in '98 I ended up there about a week or so after it happened and the ice was still about 6" thick or better on the side roads. The outlying areas looked like they were bombed. Not hardly a tree left standing.

I am hoping they allow him to come in late. He has a few miles to go. It is very hilly there.

I've spoken to a few of my friends up there recently, and it appears most everything will be shut down. Everything school/Govt related is already announced as closed. Hopefully he won't be expected to deal with treacherous travel. It's very hilly up in those (beautiful) North Georgia mountains.

With any luck it just might snow enough so even the brass can't get in.

He just called. They postponed orientation until Tuesday. I am relieved.

It's snowing here effective 20 mins ago... and not supposed to stop until Tuesday.

The grocery store reminded me of being back in Florida when a hurricane was off the coast. Sheer panic. LOL

Haha. I went to the grocery store a couple of hours ago. There were no eggs left. They were working on refilling the bread and I got one of the last 5 gallons of milk. Oddly enough, they were sold out of yogurt too. Man, it was nuts.
