Let's say that you suddenly became independently wealthy and could do anything you wanted, what would it be? We're talking about so much money that you could put it in the bank and live comfortably off of the interest alone for the rest of your life.

Can we try and stay away from answers like, "nothing", "two chicks at the same time", or things of that nature though? :p

For me personally, I would immediately enroll back in school full-time, and I wouldn't stop until I was fluent in 2-3 languages (probably some combination of Italian, Persian/Farsi, Hebrew, and Arabic) and had my Ph. D in Ancient History. I'd love to just become a scholar of ancient cultures... that's what has always fascinated me more than anything else in the world.

So what about the rest of you?

  1. pay off the mortgage
  2. allow the wife to enjoy what she wants to do (maybe her own research company)
  3. go traveling to Ireland and buy some land (and build a house near my cousins)
  4. buy a race horse
  5. buy a auto track
  6. travel to sports venues to see the respective championship level
  7. bribe the person who owns tickets to the Green Bay Packers seats at the 50 yard line and make them an offer they cannot refuse
  8. Travel to China for some take out
  9. straighten out my house and finally pave the driveway and install a pool/ hot tub in the backyard
  10. go see my friend who lives in WA state and buy out her mortgage
  11. by a map of the world and a dart, throw the dart and start traveling

Buy a couple of big houses with huge gardens, one in the South East to live in in summer and one in the Cairngorms in Scotland to live in in winter. A few nice cars, sort out my friends and family, loads of nice holidays all over Britain and the rest of the world, sort out a few under supported charities, buy West Ham United FC and turn it into my own version of Man City. :D:thumbup
 
- Pay off debt.
- Get Bryan's vasectomy & the car of his dreams.
- Get my tummy tuck and boobs reduced :D
- I'd pay off all the mortgages for my immediate family (or in my brother, step-sister, and sister-in-law's cases, buy them one).
- I would hire a baby-sitter to follow us while traveling across the world.
- Build my own spa.
- Send Bryan to cooking schools across the world.
- take extended courses for massage therapy (craniosacral therapy, bamboo massage, etc)
- throw fundraisers for medial research, and make donations.

Just a few.

~ Buy immediate family houses of their location/choice

~ Open businesses in every single state in the U.S. and employ hardworking honest people and pay a fair wage/benefits (Type of business depends on location and needs)

~ New cars for me and all family/close friends

~ Donate to my favorite charity (Boys Town)

~ Fund research for Cancer, Diabetes, Alzheimer's

~ Finish my book and publish it myself

~ Travel, Travel, Travel (Body Guards and Staff to follow)

...... that should keep me busy for awhile. I'm sure there will be other things that I'll want. :)

The best education money can buy for my kids and the nieces nephews grandkids (later on) etc...
Plenty donated to several charities.

Once I got bored with the travel and not working I would probably start flipping houses
 
Well. First, I'd put a bunch away for Abigail and any future kids to start building a good amount of money for college funds/cars for when they're 16, etc. Then, I'd buy my mom a nice house, in full. Then get myself a nice house..with a backyard. Then I'd get one for my dad and his fiancee/soon-to-be wife as well, if they wanted one. I'd donate a bunch to my church, and to all sorts of different charities and research centers and to fund aid to third-world countries, and even people in poverty here too. Then I would pay for my brother to go to college so he wouldn't have to worry about it..pay for him to get any sort of advanced medical stuff they have that could help make him better, probably get him his own place with all sorts of accommodations and some sort of live in person to help him out (or he could just live with me :D). Other than that, I'd probably just like to go to school and learn all sorts of different stuff, probably do some travelling in the off times. Keep a good amount of money to help people out when they needed it, invest some of it.

It would certainly relieve a lot of the stresses that come with life. ;)
 
A one way ticket to France. I'd probably live there for a few years or until I got tired. Then I'd travel all over, probably not staying anywhere for more than a couple of months. Then settle down in a college and devote my life to molecular biology. Yeah =]
 
Interesting.

I'd most likely buy a nice plot of land in either Alaska, Iceland or Austria. Or maybe Finland. somewhere nice and cold. I'd build a sustainable property with modern indoor farming, plumb in geothermal power and solar power and be 100% self-sufficient. And own a pack of huskies :)

After that I'd like to study science at university, possibly by correspondence. Do some more traveling maybe, and just continue writing music.

I'd really be keen on giving something back too, so perhaps if my land is large enough, start some kind of sustainable commune for people disenfranchised with modern life.
 
~Pay all debts for family and myself

~Buy lots of homes to accommodate orphans /street children -I'll adopt as many orphans/street kids as much as my money can allow me

~Other homes to house domestic violence victims with nowhere to run to after their tragic experience. With programs to help them back on their feet and be able to sustain themselves without depending on their abuser for livelihood

~Travel the world with goal to do missionary work ( @ same time- take loads of pics for National Geographic shots :D )

~Invest so i can still live comfortably from interest earned without having to go back working ;)
